This book is full of great advice for any career woman. Katherine’s “Thing 1″ came in handy recently when I was allowing my emotions get the best of me. Katherine’s example of how an opponent in court accused her that her pleading had an underlying tone. Instead of ignoring the comment, Katherine took the bait and the next thing she knew the judge was considering the tone of her pleading.

Just the other day I was in a similar position. Instead of taking the bait and going down the deep, dark hole of discussing emotion, I recognized what was happening and simply changed the subject.
